The Dijon Opera each season sets up numerous programs to bring together the public and the artists. Through the artistic programme, the family workshops, meetings with the artists, and participative projects, the Dijon Opera offers audiences from all horizons a complete immersion in the world of opera and classical music, and provides creative opportunities around the performances and new connections between the arts.
Artists and ensembles, in residence or associates, all share the same goal: to reach out to the public and offer ever more exchanges between the audiences and the performances.
For several seasons, the Dijon Opera and its Cultural Development Dept. have developed projects to raise awareness among schools, families, beginner groups and the disadvantaged. These projects are listed in a special brochure, available upon request or from the Opera’s web site. To promote accessibility, the Dijon Opera has developed significant initiatives for the disabled. Audio-description, special assistance, rehearsals and meetings in French sign language are offered free of charge.
And because it is always important to listen, the Dijon Opera invites all spectators to propose a new project, or a new form of assistance, in order to further develop services for all different types of audiences.
In reviewing these pages on “The Opera & You”, we hope you will find a project or idea that best suits your desires.
