In his workshop, a sculptor seeks to capture the image of the ideal woman, but fears he will never succeed. He is observed by his cat and by four women — are they muses? fairies? — who accompany him on their instruments. Under their influence, the cat slowly transforms and begins to speak, and the artist senses the arrival of inspiration…
From three French baroque cantatas for baritone (Don Quixote by Jean-Baptiste Morin, Les Femmes by Andre Campra and Pygmalion by Louis-Nicolas Clérambault), the ensemble Amarillis, author Léonor De Récondo & stage director Tami Troman imagine a tale that offers these three masterpieces a staging worthy of their full dramatic potential.
A fun show to enjoy with the whole family !
