With the symphonic poem Till Eulenspiegel, Strauss produced one of his most engaging and successful scores, with its succession of immediate and evocative sonic images, never without tongue in cheek. The Four last songs put the final touches to the life’s work of the composer: in 1948, after the horrors of war, they dig their roots deeply into the lyric romanticism of the past, as if nothing had happened, as if such music remained possible.

The Four last songs are an opportunity for the soprano Yeree Suh to share the Dijon stage again with Jos van Immerseel & Anima Eterna Brugge (Lieder & Fantaisie 2015).
