Le Cabaret du Faune

Romie Estèves & Nicolas Krüger
about

Ages 8 and up

Le Cabaret du Faune
, by Romie Estèves and Nicolas Krüger, offers an unexpected hybrid of Debussy and cabaret: a musical show, with singing, acting and dancing, carried by a desire for fluidity and metamorphosis.

In Le Cabaret du Faune, the mezzo-soprano Romie Estèves and the pianist Nicolas Krüger take us back to a time when the young Debussy, accompanied by Erik Satie, frequented the cabaret Le Chat noir in Montmartre. Moments of hallucination, pure beauty and humoristic fantasy, caught on the fly in the transitory form of cabaret, moments of inspiration for the founder of modern music. In an atypical yet poetic space, Le Cabaret du Faune invites us on an inspired stroll through the music of Debussy: all according to the whims of the master who wished to "sing his internal landscape with the naive candour of a child."
