Annonciation | Creation | Noces

These three works from the choreographer Angelin Preljocaj, including one premiere, highlight the coherence and raw power of an outstanding choreographic journey, whose first creations were given birth nearly 40 years ago.

Through the reprise of two of his most famous choreographies, accompanied by a premiere, Angelin Preljocaj reconnects with gesture that has lost none of its power. The nuptial and funereal rites of Noces, on music by Stravinsky, unchains the real body and the artificial body to exorcise fears and sublimate the banal barbarity of weddings. With Annonciation, on music by Vivaldi, Angelin Preljocaj examines the sacred moment of the Immaculate Conception: in a pas de deux between the Angel and the Virgin there appears all the carnal power of this great mystery of faith. How better to question the sense of union between body and spirit ?
